he rock of Ndaba is a magnificent waterfall situated along the Muhanga-Kigali road approximately 20 km from Kibuye and one of Karongi district tourism items.
The 100m high waterfall is a popular tourist attraction and according to officials in charge of tourism, the site is to be developed as a mountain sport adventure in the near future.
Beyond the fall attraction ability, the rock is known for the Ndaba tale where the rock originated the name. Residents around benefit from narration of Ndaba tale and many of them have been pushed to learning foreign languages in order to explain to the foreign visitors.
Bosco Tuyisenge, one of the children in primary three Ndaba tale tellers to visitors said that they preach togetherness and sharing culture through Ndaba tale, narrating to visitors how Ndaba was helped to get honey from the highest rock promising his colleagues to share. However, Ndaba didn’t serve them till they decided to cut the cord he was attached on and he immediately fell down and dies and the Rock was named Ndaba after his death and they can register around 1,000 Rwf daily from narration.
